With all the serious news about the economy and the election, you’d think people might not be in the mood to party. But as the holidays approached, it seemed Atlantans were more determined than ever to savor the season. Whether you want to celebrate extravagantly or simply, this issue will help you do so stylishly. There are beautiful homes, from a grand ski retreat to a quaint Decatur cottage. There are also ideas for a festive New Year’s Day brunch and a cozy fireside dinner. As always, there are lots of beautiful products and great places to shop to inspire your winter decorating.
It’s an occupational hazard that magazine editors feel like they’ve already celebrated the holidays when their December issue ships to the printer in October. But I am especially in love with this one—which is sure to inspire you throughout the winter season, and not just during December. I want every single product in Home Base, and I would kill for a week in the Steamboat Springs house designed by Bob Brown. But for now, I guess I’ll just dream over the pictures. That’s what magazines are for, right?
